School started and we live in Utah now

After B cancelled our offer on that Bountiful house, we had to rush to find another house to live in because school was starting the next week. Luckily this house in Kaysville came on the market and we were the first to sign a rental agreement and we moved in a few days before school started. The boys were excited to start school in Utah! They made friends right away and it has been a great transition. We have some friends in our neighborhood and one of them is in Edmond's class. It's such a blessing to see the boys settle into their new lives so quickly. We ride our bikes to school every morning and the kids love it. We also walk to church. It's nice to live next to the school and church again, just like we did in Idaho.

I was too late to sign up Scarlett for preschool. All the preschools were full.  So we have been doing it on our own. I did sign her up for dance and tumbling, so at least she gets to go somewhere a couple times a week. And she has a little friend her age that lives next door. I'm so glad! They play together off and on all day.

In our neighborhood in Idaho, there were 28 kids running in and out of each other's houses every day. In our new Kaysville neighborhood, there are 10 kids (counting mine). This is perfect because it gives us more family time each day, but we still have the option to play with friends whenever we want. I'm so happy about that.

Also, I love our house! It is super cute and clean and new. I'll take pictures soon and show you. I love it and feel so blessed to be able to live here.

It took a few days for our furniture to arrive. Luckily we had our library books.

The song Scarlett sang to Juliette as they sat hugging on the counter went something like this, "Sisters! We are sisters! Sisters! We are sisters!"

My kids love the Toyota dealership. They get full on free candy and soda and popcorn and watch all the TV they want.

After we drop off the boys at school, we play in the school playground for a while. We found a cat. Juliette was so happy! Scarlett always tells me, "Mom! I just want my very own real live pet! And you never give me one!!!"

Yeah. I'm not getting a pet. No thank you. I don't want to clean up poop. Besides, I think Edmond is allergic. Yay for that excuse.

Our neighbor has some raspberry bushes. He said the kids could eat them anytime. I always find Scarlett out there picking berries and eating them. That is one thing that I am loving about Davis County...the fruit trees and berries and gardens!!! It is beautiful here!

Goodbye, Idaho

Once it was decided that we were going to leave Idaho after only living there a year, I knew that in the years to come when we remembered our time in Idaho, it would feel like a dream.  I don't know how to fully describe what Idaho was like for us. The days were long and pretty uneventful. There were no quick shopping trips, no stopping in at Grandma's, there were just the friends in our neighborhood, the big sky, the wind, preschool, school, dance, running and walking on the trail, Spudman training, daddy coming home for lunch every day, and the Snake river.

For our kids, it was perfect. They loved Idaho so much, and they cried when we left. I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them settles down there when they are grown and start a family. It really is a magical and unique place.

We did the Spudman at the end of July. It was a 1 mile swim, 25 mile bike ride, and 6 mile run. We had a great time and maybe we will do it again some day!

Our neighbor Todd cleared away some sagebrush off an empty lot and then put his hose on the dirt to make mud pits for the kids. Todd is a genius. This was the best fun ever. No wonder my kids love Idaho so much.

I don't even recognize this girl when she is sleeping. She is so busy and active when she is awake, when I see her sleeping I'm like, "who is this kid?"

I love her.

Todd took the neighborhood boys to a rock quarry in his big truck. They loved riding in his big rig.
