Brian was the photographer and by my side every minute throughout my long labor. Edmond had a hard time breathing so as soon as he was born he was whisked away up to the nursery. Brian went with him and I was left alone to eat some food, enjoy my epidural and wonder how our son was coming along.
This is me after my 35 hour labor. I started having contractions at 2AM Monday morning. By the time we got to the hospital on Tuesday night they were 90 seconds long and only a minute apart and my body was spent. I screamed for them to "Help me!" and "Give me an epidural!" They responded quickly to my plea, and once I received the epidural I dialated from a 4 to a 10 in half and hour. I was finally able to relax and the baby came out in just a few pushes.
Baby Edmond is so sweet and we love to hold him close to us and listen to all of his little baby noises. We love the way he smells and how soft his hair is. He is amazing.
Poor B, he didn't have a bed in our room, just a stupid recliner. We spent the second night at the hospital sharing my bed, which actually wasn't too bad, but we're happy to be home now and able to relax. We are so glad that our son has finally arrived and we can't wait for everyone to meet him.
