Kiss that baby

Emily brought this little kimono onesie from Japan for Scarlett.
She looked so cute in it, we all couldn't stop kissing her all day long.

First Swim

Last week was so hot. We sent the boys out for their first swim.
The water is still cold but they didn't mind. they kept pushing themselves out to the middle of the pool and then begging me to bring them back to the shallow part.
 Scarlett was a spectator.
Eventually I jumped in myself. I was the first adult in our pool. I was so proud. The water was freezing. But every day it gets warmer and warmer.

Gross stuff my kids do

You'd never guess it, but these cute kids can do some gross stuff.

Today I went to get a tissue out of the tissue box and discovered that someone had used a bunch of them to blow their nose and then shoved the used ones back in the box. (Scarlett?...)

The other day Charlie had dirty feet from playing outside so I took him to the kitchen sink to clean him off. He immediately grabbed the sink sponge and shoved it down the disposal. I had to pull it out (Sick! I hate reaching in there!) and when I pulled it out it had mystery junk all over it. I was still holding it as I washed my hands and Charlie yanked it from me and put it in his mouth.

Those are two gross things that happened lately that are still making me cringe.

Also someone is having a hard time flushing the toilet when they are done. (Scarlett?...)

And this is off the subject, but today Charlie was crying and I asked him what happened and Edmond interrupted us and said, "He bonked himself."

"How did he bonk himself?" I asked.

"He bonked himself with my hand." he informed me.

"Did you hit him?"

"Yeah."

"Can you say sorry?"

Then Edmond proceeded to apologize.

Later I went outside to see what the boys were up to and Edmond informed me that they were putting snails in the oven. I inquired what this entailed and they led me to their outside play kitchen and opened the little oven and there were indeed several snails inside that were being "cooked".

Life is funny around here. And a little bit gross.

Rockets - Take Two

These two are always hovering over something.

Happy kids on the swings.

On the last day of spring break we took the kids to launch rockets again. Tanner had made a special rocket to launch, and it was lost on the first launch. But other than that it was good times as always. And the first hot day of spring...you know, where it starts to get a little uncomfortably hot.

Last Day at the Snow

We went to the snow for the last time this year. We knew it was the last time since the snow was literally melting under our feet. Denise helped me with Scarlett.

It's funny to go to the snow when you live in California because we saw lots of people pulling over to take pictures of themselves in the snow, like they've never seen it. Or maybe they're showing the pictures to friends who have never seen it. Also lots of people pull over to let their little ones play in it for the very first time.

The rhino kept getting stuck and all the people who had pulled over to marvel at the snow stopped to marvel at us for a while. Maybe they'd never seen a rhino before. One couple watched us for about twenty minutes.

Scarlett was my little snow bunny.

Charlie was my snow bunny too.

Edmond played so hard he was too hot for his coat.

Easter

Lots of cute kids running around finding eggs and eating candy.

I gave a talk in church about Christlike attributes. We all wore pink and were a matchy matchy family.

Joy School Easter Party

I found this guy stuck in a net. He asked me to help him out.
