Christmas in California

We spent over a week in California for Christmas, visiting friends and spending time with family. It always feels good to be back there.

I found some beauty in the salt flats on the way over.

Leaf fights with friends.

I love these besties of mine.

Grammy does such a good job on costumes for the nativity.

Some of the Christmas loot.

Party'd out.

We went up to Tahoe for the day and I managed to really hurt myself going over a jump on this sled. My tailbone hasn't been the same since.

This is a talk that Charlie gave in church about his favorite ancestor. Papa!!!

Christmas Festivities

We were going to California for Christmas, so we had to rush to finish up all the Christmas activities that needed to be done in Utah. Temple Square is always a must!

Edmond had a really amazing 3rd grade Christmas music performance!!

Our wonderful neighbors invited us over to decorate gingerbread houses. The goal was to cover every inch of gingerbread with candy.

There is always a lego project of some sort under way.

Charlie drew this Santa for Papa.

The annual Adair Christmas party. It involved dinner, the nativity story, musical performances, and the men folk singing to us.

I made more of these baby carriers. I think I made over ten of these things. But they really are the cutest gift!!

Some of Edmond's writing.

Disneyland and Newport Beach

There are three kinds of people in this world.
1. Those who LOVE Disneyland.
2. Those who HATE Disneyland.
3. And those put up with it because kids love it.

We belong in the third category. We spent two days there at Christmas time and there was magic and singing and laughing and crying and whining. My favorite moments were right after a ride when the kids wanted to tell me all about it (even though I was there) and they would discuss it with each other too. "That was so bumpy! Did you see me keep my hands in the air the whole time?" Scarlett was especially fun. She was tall enough to ride all the ride (being tall does have its perks!) and she would dance every time we saw a parade or dancers.

We met up with our dear friends, the Moss family. Our kids picked up right where they left off and so did the adults. We always have fun with them, even though we only see them a couple times a year.

Lucky for us, B's sister and her family moved to Laguna Beach. One of the best parts of this trip was staying with them. Sometimes the kids would request to leave Disneyland early so that we could go home and play with their cousins. Little Hudson announced that our kids were his best friends. He told me Charlie was especially his best friend. Hudson and Juliette got into lots of mischief together. They are only 3 months apart and are very similar in that they like to get into things that they shouldn't be getting into. They were adorable together and it was funny to listen to their conversations.
We spent some time at the beach, checking the tide pools for critters.

We are already making plans to go back to Laguna Beach this summer and we're so excited to visit our cousins there again!
