Edmond Says

While I'm cooking dinner Edmond yells to me from the living room, "He doesn't like freakin' pasta all over his couch. He'll yell. He's mean.

"Who is?"

"Daddy is."

Then Edmond laughed. Then I laughed.

*******

While holding a red balloon he obtained in nursery, Edmond tells me, "If we put the balloon down on the dirt it will pop. Yeah. And nobody needs that."

*******

One day while Edmond and I were hugging, he looked up at me and said, "Hey Mom, I smell ya."

"What do I smell like?" (I was kind of nervous as to what he would say...children never lie you know.)

"You smell like....(sniff sniff)...Mommy."

******

During dinner Edmond informed me that he was a Policeman. After dinner I told Edmond it was time for a bath. He said, "Policeman's don't take baths."

Edmond's Answered Prayer

We were looking all over the house for Edmond's big orange truck. It's big, and our house is small, so it should have been easy to find. But it wasn't. He kept asking me, "Mom, where's my truck? Where is it?"

"I don't know, buddy, we've looked everywhere!"

I remembered our family night lesson a few weeks ago, where we talked about the Holy Ghost and how it can help us and guide us. I told Edmond we should kneel down and say a prayer and ask Heavenly Father to help us find his truck.

So we knelt down in his room and said a simple prayer. Afterwards I told Edmond to listen closely because Heavenly Father was going to send the Holy Ghost to help him. I told him it was a still small voice, but if he listened closely he would be able to hear the voice and it would tell him where to look for his truck. I watched Edmond wander down the hall, touching one ear and then the other, listening. I stayed where I was and watched him wander into my bedroom. I heard some clanking of plastic, then I yelled to Edmond. "Did you find it?"

"Yeah!"

"Where was it?"

"Under your bed!"

He came running back into his bedroom with his truck and his biggest smile. I hugged him and asked, "Did the Holy Ghost tell you where to look?"

"Yeah! To look under your bed!"

"Oh, Edmond! Heavenly Father answered your prayer! He sent the Holy Ghost to tell you where to look! You did a good job listening to the still small voice!"

And so we knelt again to say thank you to Heavenly Father for helping us.

I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. I'm so glad He helped me teach my son about the power of prayer today.

Glider

Last year B was helping a family in our ward move and they gave him this old glider they didn't want.

I decided to reupholster it for Edmond's room. I love to sit in it with both boys on my lap and read them books.

I like it much better now.

All Better

Charlie's all better now. The fatigue, fever and seizures are gone. He's back to his same energetic toddler self. I'm so glad. To celebrate, we took him to ride the train with Grammy.

The doctor's said that he has a 50% chance of having more seizures before he grows out of them around the age of four. So, that's something to worry about, but at least we know what to expect, so that makes it a little less scary.

But, for now we are enjoying having healthy happy children.
